Christchurch Spiritual Direction Taster Event (SGM)

  • Te Mānawa Atawhai – Catherine McAuley Centre 31 Peer Street Christchurch, Canterbury Region, 8041 New Zealand (map)

What is spiritual direction?

Spiritual direction is a practice of listening for God in your life with the help of a trained spiritual director. In the midst of everyday life, it offers a gentle space to notice
where God is already present and at work.

If you are curious about spiritual direction — whether as someone who might receive it, or someone wondering about training as a spiritual director — you are warmly invited to this information morning.

This Christchurch Spiritual Direction Taster Event, hosted by Spiritual Growth Ministries (SGM), offers an opportunity to learn about the practice of spiritual direction in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

During the morning you will:

  • Hear from Fran Francis, National Co-ordinator for SGM’s Spiritual Directors Formation Programme

  • Meet local spiritual directors

  • Watch a live demonstration of spiritual direction

  • Learn about the pathway to training as a spiritual director

There will also be space for questions and conversation.

Date: Saturday 2 May

Te Mānawa Atawhai – Catherine McAuley Centre
