Spiritual Directors Formation Programme

Are finances a barrier to applying?

We believe financial barriers should not hinder a genuine call to the ministry of spiritual direction. That’s why we offer:

  • Year One Scholarship: One full Year One Scholarship each year, covering course fees and residential week cost for an applicant experiencing financial hardship.

  • Financial Support Grants: We have several $1500 grants available for 2026. If this support would make a meaningful difference to your ability to afford the formation programme, please request a Grant Application from Jenna Edgar at admin@sgm.org.nz.

Note: Both options require the applicant to have been offered a place on the SDFP, so please begin that process simultaneous to any scholarship or grant applications

These funding options are made possible through the generosity of the SDFP Alumni Partnership Fund and generous bequests made to SGM, reflecting our community's commitment to ensuring equitable access for spiritual director formation in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
